From what i understand, MLBTV only gives you away games.

If you are going to go the MLB.TV route, then you will need a vpn, or else you will get blacked out in So Cal.  I think they black out all local teams based on your area.  Good thing is, VPN's are getting pretty cheap now.  I think the one I got was $50 for 3 years, and no problems watching the games so far.  Plus with Tmobile, they have given me the mlb.tv subscription for free the last 3 years.

I think you will see a number of providers carry “Bally” before the start of the season. Two reason:

1. Bally has crap content right now. No need for any service to pay them if they have an expired contract

2. I believe Bally will come back with more reasonable terms in the Spring.  They need cash flow.

Good lord, the whole regional sports networks are the biggest shitshow around. They don't carry a lot of teams.  Providers don't carry a lot of the RSNs.  Bally's is a fucknut of a name that means different things to different people.

And Sinclair just wrote down their investment in RSNs $4.2 billion last quarter.

I thought you liked name changes.

Per the article...

Under the deal, Bally’s will provide what a news release called “unrivaled sports gamification content on a national scale,” on both the 21 regional sports networks formerly owned by Fox and on the 190 television stations across 88 markets with which the Sinclair Broadcast Group is affiliated. Bally’s said it is closing deals that will increase the number of casinos it owns to 14, across 10 states.
