It’s extremely unlikely he had anything to do with Reed or Wong. That’s probably the work of the interim team. At most they passed it along to him for quick approval or used it as a mock scenario in interviews.

Why is it unlikely?  It's possible he actually had an agreement a day or two ago, and it just officially got leaked today.  Signing guys to minor league deals probably can materialize rather quickly, I would imagine?
