I think he goes back to Atlanta. AA said they'd look to add another back end RP, they have the money, and they're familiar with each other.

Just frustrating that Buttrey is seemingly the third late innings guy.  That likely won’t cut it.

Of all the remaining FA, is there anyone who can really help us?  

I really think we are good with what we have.  Detmers and Rodriguez back up the rotation. 

Plenty of guys in the bullpen.  Good depth in the infield and outfield.

We have a lefty and maybe even two lefties, in Claudio and Sandoval.  With the emergence of having to face 3 batters, the need for lefty specialists don’t really exist or at the very least are much less important.

Although if Claudio's injury is serious, they may need another lefty. Also, Sandoval is only a couple injuries away from being needed in the rotation.

I think Sandoval starts year in minors. Bring Alvarez on minor league deal.

We've seen some for pure minor leaguers and some position players, but it doesn't seem like we've seen a ton for arms with MLB experience. That does seem odd.

The Angels need pitching, so I am very surprise.

Yeah they signed Faria, Pannone, and Guerra, but normally there'd be more.

Maybe this front office has a better sense of what to look for with minor league signings  than the previous group?  Being more discerning with minor league signings could be a positive.

could also be that there are fewer minor league teams so you can't stash and hope on as many guys.

I don't think I've heard an agent say "kinda" .... "you know" or struggle to finish a thought more often than Luba does but whatever.  A player having to consider how the union will react to a contract and how they believe it will impact others has always been a thing... Despite that, she really did get him a series of one year deals and at numbers the union cant really bitch about anything.  She got him what he wanted, from a team that fit his criteria, and who was also willing to offer all the opt outs.  Good for him.

Sorry I wasn't clear.

I meant he wanted his AAV  to be the highest in baseball and his best route to do that was to have a 1 or 2 year deal. In other words if the offer isn't 1/40 or 2/80 as a starting point none of those other qualities mattered.

I've tried to not hold that position because it sorta sounds chauvinist but she comes off terribly unprofessional.

Well, has nothing to do with gender, if it was a dude saying it I'd feel the same way.  Maybe it's because it was an informal setting and she was just sort of "chatting" with Bauer.
