If we don't sign Bauer, I'm perfectly fine going after one of the remaining second tier arms, then sign another effective reliever and a RF. Call it an offseason.

No one has been saying two more since we got Quintana. I would welcome two more if it involved both being better than what we have and as long as one of those trades involved Barria going the other way. He doesn’t fit in the pen and can’t be sent down to get stretched out.

I don't think it has to be. I mean we should at least get what the Mets did for Matz. Heaney has been every bit as good as him, both just with one year on their contracts.

Chuck is good for at least a mil.  He's got half of that in the cushions of the couch that everyone keeps crapping on. Strad is good for $500K once he sells all of his baseball cards. Taylor is good for about a buck because he wants to give everything away for free, but has no idea how to pay for it all - plus he's spending all his money trying to figure out to keep the hair on his head.  tdawg is good for $300K once he sells his porn collection.  If only angelsjunky was paid by the number of words he posts on this site, he'd be able to throw in quite a bit - but is good for about $20 right now. slappyutility guy had us all fooled, he's really an ex-big leaguer with a huge pension and millions in the bank - and he'll throw in $750K. Lou... well, Lou is a maybe - even though he has millions tucked away because he never goes anywhere or does anything other than watch TV.

OK well for me, if Arte isnt willing to take on any tax even minimal in the one times its brutally obvious he should im out of this deal.   I want no more albatrosses.   Its absurd to try to sign a guy to a contract north of 30 mil and be scared of less than 5 in penalties.   If we cant hack one we shouldnt do the other.

Just got a message from an anonymous donor. He's a pitcher who likes to throw inside.  He's willing to chip in a million just for shits and giggles.  He's racked up quite the fortune knocking people out in this forum.  CanadianHalo will sell his collection of Shania Twain albums and chip in $15 Canadian.  Which I think is about $1.50.  Clod will chip in $2 million, if Chuck let's him back in the forum.  I say we pass on that one.
