His ankles are weak after 2 injuries over the last 2 seasons. He isn't worth the risk at $18.9M...

 Bring back La Stella to play 2B. He was an all star with us. He should be got for a reasonable amount. From what read on the A's message board he was a fan favorite in Oakland.

There is no chance Simmons gets a QO.  DJ LeMahieu made 12 mil last year, hit .364, and he won't get one.  

That being said, I'd rather give a long term deal to LeMahieu to be our 2B, than to give Simmons one, especially after Simmons opted out with a week to go.

I think both are average defensively, but the edge with the stick goes to LaMahieu.

Obviously the Angels aren’t going to make a qualifying offer to Simmons.  I’d offer him 2 years and 13 million.  We do need middle infielders.  If he can do better than that then all the best to him.  I’ve enjoyed his time with the Angels.

Do the Angels get a first round pick if they don't accept the QO?

I can't remember if they changed that rule or not. I think many teams will be reluctant to sign him if they also have to give up their 1st rounder.
