After watching a few Ducks games, these guys are exactly what you need. A DMan who can carry the puck and a C who can create

After watching the Avs and watching the Ducks I think what the Ducks need more than anything else is to encourage the D to skate the puck out of danger instead of making those bad passes and they desperately need somebody who can enter the O zone with control of the puck. Stretch passes and dump and chase mean they don't draw enough penalties and they can't properly utilize the snipers they have on the wings.

The only one that has any ability to skate the puck out of the zone is Fowler.  Lindholm likes standing around.  Shatenkirk started strong, but is getting exposed recently.  Larsson is still a work in progress.  And Hutton is trade bait.  

Drysdale has something like 5 assists in the AHL, and is among the league leaders in defense.  It'll be interesting if the Ducks are on the verge of the playoffs if they call up him and Zegras.  They could actually sell some players, call them up, and still be better off now and in the future.

No chance they burn the ELC year on this season. The may both get their 6 games but that's probably it

Yeah, you are probably right.  Better for them to both get the year at AHL, get a good playoff run in.  Then take over next season.  

BTW, Gulls are 5-0 to start the season.  Best start in franchise history.

Yeah the Ducks are suffering from their draft position over the years. They got some good players but never drafted high enough to get elite playmakers until recently. Maybe one more good play driving F this year in the draft and they'll look much better

The Ducks haven't had a top 3 pick since Bobby Ryan. Giving those picks to tankers and poorly managed teams is ridiculous. If the NHL was serious about a fair draft priority, there are some easy changes they could make in the next bargaining round.

Instead of listening to the Red Wings whine on about not being able to get a #1 pick by deliberately putting a terrible team on the ice, they should make them the poster child of how not to rebuild.

Yeah, we got lucky.  Zegras was 9th, and Drysdale was 6th.  

Fun fact, Ducks have never had a #1 pick.
