Trout has pulled a Stealth Opt Out. He's still getting paid but he's been checked out for a while.

Myers got to that ball quickly. The announcers on both channels started to exclaim "extra bases." Nope.

That umpire was shifted like 4 inches to the inside of the plate, and his zone was 4 inches off.  How the **** is Ohtani supposed to hit a ball up and in 4 inches?

Barria went exactly once through the order, seemed pre-planned.  Clev's early departure "wasn't planned" per press reports.  Sounds like he's still injured.

Padres announcers still don't know about Clevinger. Maybe he's an "opener" so he doesn't work too much before the playoffs.

Maddon maybe wants to look at some people. Or use Barria against the Dodgers.

It has been nearly a decade since, but I seem to recall he hit in the .180s during his first brief call-up when he made that catch in Baltimore.

His first brief call up was in 2011; that catch was in late June 2012. 

But yes, he hit .220 in 40 games during his call up in 2011.

The only season that comes to mind since 2012 that I know that Trout was somewhat streaky was 2014. I mean, he still had an excellent season at the plate that year but it felt like he wasn't quite at his best at the dish.

Yes, but I'm not talking about his call-up, but first half of his career or so. I remember him really struggling in 2014 for awhile, but he never seemed to go through long bad spells in 2012-13 and 2015-16. That seems to have started in 2017 or so.

Nah. 2017 was still a consistent, awesome season for him. Only one bad month, which was September. Won't count July 2017 because he played in like 5 games. It's just this season (*****) and 2014.

He's "streaky" in the sense that he'll be a normal human for a while, then be a Demigod for 2 weeks.

Though right now he's clearly checked out.

Yeah I dont remember him being so streaky during the first half of his career. He really dropped the consistency and became a lot more feast-or-famine.

Sandoval may or may not be a good SP, but he seems like he has the potential to be a good reliever.  We could definitely use some good lefty relievers.
