Because there are no minor leagues this year and the Angels suck. Might as well get him the experience. If the Angels were competing for the postseason, yeah, it would be worth discussing what to do with him.

They’re playing the young guys to gauge what type of chips they’ll have for the offseason. Otherwise they’ll have very little trade ability with no AAA or AA work.
