To prevent fraud, all votes have to be verified to be counted. States have different ways to do that for in-person voting, but by mail, the principal method used to detect and prevent fraud is by verifying information on the mail ballot itself, according to the Brennan Center, a nonpartisan law and policy institute.

To vote by mail, voters must include personal identifying information, such as an address, birthday, driver's license number or last four digits of a Social Security number. A voter’s remaining personal information is matched against the information stored on voter rolls, such as a signature.

So the two national parties control all the money and even who can get on the ballot but this is where we want to draw the line with subverting the democracy?

what would you suggest be done to reduce the possibility for fraud?

Ban national parties. Elections are supposed to be state responsibilities. Keep everybody else's money out then allow other candidates the opportunity to participate equally

you've got 45 days until the election. may have to wait until 2024.

gotbeer also brought up that besides the presidential race, the ballot is filled primarily with local and state offices up for grabs, plus all of the propositions. these are things that are more likely to affect each of us than the presidency.

This is the longest ballot that we have ever had, with the presidency, Congressional races (no Senate seats up right now), judge positions, city and county offices, plus four or five state questions.

Would you trust mailing a $100 bill to someone through USPS? I sure as shit wouldn’t.

If they're so incompetent and untrustworthy then obviously any attempts at election fraud will be subverted because the USPS lost half the fraudulent ballots.

Or are they only competent when it comes to taking in ballots from Democrats?
