He's definitely been pull happy, but a .091 BABIP is pretty freaking unreal too.    Still better than Yelich's .000 BABIP.....    I dont think I had ever seen that before but there it is ...

I have no idea how to understand BABIP. What’s a good number? Average? Craptastic?

Babip attempts to measure how often a batted ball goes for a hit (excluding HRs).  It's a better tool for pitchers, but it can also be used to look for guys who have been unlucky.  A .300-ish babip is typically league average.   Fast guys often have elevated Babips because they can let out IF hits and the sort...  Slow guys often see the opposite effect.   AP for instance has posted a babip above .265 all of once as an Angel ...way back in 2012

Mike Trout and Justin Upton have the exact same amount of RBI and runs scored.

Mike Trout has missed a few games. Not a valid comparison.

Upton is the new Pujols. He isn't going to get much better and he isn't going anywhere.

Yes and it’s great to see that they’re finally both 100% healthy and completely out of tokens for the Excuse-a-Matic Machine. They both should be mashing anytime now.

Until he proves that he has what it takes to play at the MLB level he’ll be long gone before we have to worry about that.

New narrative everyone.   Adell is leaving the Angels because he wasn’t called up to start the year.  I’ll add this to the pile that includes, Ohtani is going to the Yankees, Trout is leaving the first chance he gets, Trout is leaving the second chance he gets, and the Yankees are only going to drive up the cost for Cole because they don’t need him.

Very bad interpretation Stradling.

Oh ok.  So what did you mean by he will be long gone by then?

If he doesn’t cut the mustard at the MLB level he’ll either get traded or remain in the minors.

Given the timing of the promotion, Adell will not be able to accrue a full season of MLB service this year. He’s now on track to reach free agency after the 2026 season. If he holds down a roster spot from this point forward, Adell will surely qualify for arbitration in advance of the 2023 season as a Super Two player.

Let’s just say that he’s our top prospect and we have no idea where he’ll be in 2026.
