The Angels are calling up Jo Adell

Jared Walsh and Michael Hermosillo have been optioned to Long Beach. One of the spots will probably be taken by Mike Trout but what about the other spot?

 

 This was tweeted by a sports photographer who has been at Long Beach covering the Angels Long Beach roster for the majority of this season.

Well, it's exciting that we no longer have to see Walsh or Hermosillo get AB's and that now Adell will be getting them. This also likely means that Ohtani is hitting the IL which is not good.

Trout, Teheran and Adell up.  So my guess is Ohtani dL or a guy like Keller going down.

Could Upton or Goodie be going on the Il? or is trout taking a few extra days off. Feels wierd to bring Adell up now instead of the 3 days Trout wasn't on the team.

my happiness of Adell being called up will be balanced out by my sadness of Ohtani needing Tommy John.

There is no reason for either player to be placed on the IL.

The Angels defensive outfield staff must be amazing in Long Beach. Adell went from struggling in Summer Camp to being ready in just under a week!

Jeff Fletcher just tweeted that the Angels will have to make a 40 man roster move as well to add Adell.

Just a hunch that with all of the teams struggling with positive tests we are going to see the expanded rosters get extended, maybe even for the entire season.

This franchise could use some good news. Here's hoping that Ohtani's MRI came back fine and he'll be good to go as the DH and that Adell was called up because Justin Upton has decided to opt out of the season.
