He's not locating his fastball at all, and it has traditionally been his weakest pitch.

Those last 2 pitches, 89 and 90, looked like Fastball and that a concern. 

also probably shouldn't have stay that long.

After a Tommy John surgery and coming back during a pandemic it's still spring training for Shohei. I really don't expect him to return to what he was until next season.

It's a combination of rust and confidence.  

You knuckleheads are seriously overreacting to the radar gun reading every pitch.  You might be more scared than he is that he'll get hurt again.

He needs the reps to get back in sync with his mechanics but at the same time they can't afford to be basically throwing games every Sunday and taxing the pen with these performances.
