If it’s the boogeyman then why do you care if it’s banned?

I don't. Banning it in K-12 schools is like banning unicorns at the beach.

What I do care about is CRT strawman language being used to block any conversations around diversity, race, and inclusion.

This country has a culture problem not a race problem. Quit trying to guilt trip white people into thinking everything is their fault. You’re like the AW Karen.

You're the one feeling guilty apparently. I just want there to be programs for kids from minority groups and cultures to share their experiences and get resources.

I was at the barber shop today and this black guy walks in and asks, “ya’ll take black people? I just got outta jail and need a fresh cut!”

The barber pauses for a moment and says, “you need to book an appointment online.”

The black guy leaves and the Asian dude in the chair starts laughing, the Hispanic barber says, “he won’t be back” and the white guy up next posts about it on AW. This is race in America in 2022.

The Asian guy wasn't the barber? Cals' head is spinning.

MLK was a socialist. The conservative attempt to paint him like one of their own is laughable.

and yet some of the things he said then no longer fit the civil rights movement today.

He was a man, he was right, he was wrong, but he made a difference.  Today, just like most everyone in the past are used as weapons in arguments.  I think he would be sad today for many reasons.

I agree with this. He's been co-opted by both sides to defend their narratives.

However, it's not a stretch to say he was a socialist who wasn't just assassinated because of the race stuff; people hated what he was saying about Vietnam, capitalism, income inequality, etc. He was actually very unpopular when he was killed, for reasons that conservatives today would disdain him and call him "woke" and "Marxist."

He's also the same guy who desperately wanted to see white people and Black people working together, and he succeeded in building bridges across the racial spectrum. Some of the judgmental and elitist views on the Left today go against his message.

Still, it's not an equal balance. His main critiques of the modern-day progressive movement would likely be that they aren't progressive enough. This conservative attempt to loop him in with their hysteria about CRT and woke-ism is very historically unsound.

Meh, the two haircut places I've been to in Lake Forest are both Asian-owned. I haven't had my hair cut by a non-Asian person since we moved back from Colorado.

Me neither. Charlie can cut some hair. And they always have R rated movies on for the kiddos.
