Not sure I'm all about picking up a guy with an 89mph heater with little movement who is a bit of a headcase.

He’s 28 and a year removed from being really good.  If the acquisition cost isn’t too much, he is the perfect reclamation project to be a back end starter.

What is the most any of you would trade for Foltynewicz?  Just so were clear I will never type out his name again, that’s some bullshit.  Would any of you give up a guy like Barria for him?  Bedrosian?  It’s going to cost you at least a fringe major leaguer.  Ward?

He is owed 6 million but, this season, that is pro rated so not much....but budget considerations are going to be different for awhile to come....

I think I read $2.4 million for the remainder of the season.

I just looked at his splits for last year.  In the 2nd half of last season he was 6-1 with an ERA of 2.65, a WHIP of 1.07.

That isn't much in a "normal" year...you would jump on it....but this year, not sure what the thought process will be....

it's cool - we can afford him because we're not resigning Simmons for next year. we should also bench simba for the rest of the season because of said lack of resigning.

Hey @Inside Pitch, @Dochalo what are your thoughts on Folty?

After talking to a few friends that are Braves fans, i think we should stay cleared from Folty (That's but they call him). From what they've told me, seem like he's going thru alot of things with the Braves and his own personal life. He was told during the game, that he was getting Dfa. Didn't even wait until the end of the game, it happened during the game. So that tells a lot. The other think to worry about his his velo dropped by 4 mph, that just does happened in a years time. He's also lost weight, and not the way one should lose it.  Some are imply that it might have been due to substance abuse. With all these factors and the fact that he's a mental midget on the mound, lets stay clear.

I also do hope that he take the time and get help, especially with the reported mental issue and if he involved in Substance abuse.

Still a risk worth taking, unless he's someone who his teammates all hate him, IMO.
