Payroll in 2021

All teams will be looking to cut payroll in 2021, where will Angels make cuts if any? 3 million is not going to happen in 2021 in attendance.

Their budget isn't based solely around attendance. It is primarily driven by the Fox Sports contract. I don't see any changes for 2021 in terms of what they have used for the budget cap in the past.

Good question. You have to assume that owners won’t be spending any money this offseason, given all the uncertainty. For the Angels, I presume that means parting ways with Simmons, La Stella, Teheran, etc. The implications of all this will be far reaching.

I actually think that the Angels will keep things the same for 2021. They’ll extend Simmons, Teheran and La Stella for one year deals. We can certainly forget about any other large offseason signings. The hot stove season is going to be quieter than ever.

With the offset in decrease in the price of yacht fuel, this should be a net zero for Arte.
