CHINA

I always get sad when the story will scare old white people less than the headline.

“We need to strike a middle course – one that encourages China’s rise in a manner consistent with an open, fair, rules-based, regional order,” Sullivan said. “This will require care and prudence and strategic foresight, and maybe even more basically it will require sustained attention. It may not have escaped your notice that these are not in ample supply in Washington right now.”

I wonder if that is ex-angel pitcher Sean's brother

Satellite images appear to show China developing area along disputed border with India and Bhutan

Quote

According to US-based satellite operator Maxar Technologies, the images, dated October 28, 2020, show "there has clearly been significant construction activity this year all along the Torsa River valley area." In a statement, Maxar added there had also been construction of "new military storage bunkers" near the Doklam area.

Maxar said the images show the newly constructed Pangda Village, on the Bhutanese side of the disputed border, as well as a supply depot in Chinese territory, near the point of a tense dispute between Indian and Chinese forces in 2017.

In a statement, Bhutan's ambassador to India, Major General Vetsop Namgyel, said "there is no Chinese village inside Bhutan."

China is collecting the world’s DNA and the reason is sinister

The Peoples Republic of China (PRC) has been collecting people’s DNA for years, and according to Gordon Chang, author of ‘The Coming Collapse of China,’ the country’s sinister motivations should be of great concern to the United States.

With over 80 million health profiles, China has the largest DNA database in the world, and growing. In an interview with Fox News, Chang warned that China plans to use this information to create bioweapons designed to target specific ethnic groups.

“The coronavirus is not the last pathogen that will be generated from Chinese soil. And so we've got to be concerned that the next disease is more transmissible and more deadly than the novel coronavirus,” said Chang.

Gordon Chang warns China is 'going to push a President Biden around' and US must 'push back'

President-elect Joe Biden will be little match for the "incredible arrogance" of the Chinese government, China expert Gordon Chang warned on "Tucker Carlson Tonight."

"They're going to push a President Biden around," Chang told host Tucker Carlson. "They're going to do things which are dangerous, because we're going to have to push back. Under President Trump, the Chinese didn't try this because they were afraid of him. So what I'm concerned about is the state of mind of China ... This is dangerous.

Chang was reacting to video of a Nov. 28 lecture by Renmin University professor Di Dongsheng, in which he bragged that China has been able to "fool the United States" through their ties to political and business leaders.

"That's absolutely true, that China does have that relationship into what he [Di] calls the core circle of America's real power," Chang told Carlson.

"They used that during the Obama administration and prior administrations, and they couldn't do it during the Trump administration that much," Chang went on. "We know and I know that they are in anticipation, licking their chops about what's going to happen from Jan. 20 on.

Chang added that he was surprised that Di was so frank about the ties between Beijing, Washington and Wall Street in a public lecture that was recorded.

"What he was making were those admissions which really go to the core of the China-U.S. relationship, and I think that what President Trump can do, whether he has 40 days or four years, is to break some of those connections," he said. "He can do it with the International Emergency Economic Powers Act of 1977 He can even maybe use the Trading With the Enemy Act of 1917.

"But we've got to break those connections, because if we don't do that, we are going into a point where we may not be able to deter China," Chang warned, "because they are so arrogant, so belligerent that they think they can buy any American politician, including the president of the United States."

He seems to know more than you about the subject considering he speaks the language, worked in Hong Kong, China, for 20 years and was a legal counsel for American law firms there.

No wonder I haven't received an invite from Tucker Carlson.

China warns of retaliation for NYSE's delisting of companies

China said Saturday that it would take necessary countermeasures in response to the New York Stock Exchange’s announcement that it would delist three major Chinese telecoms, in the latest flare-up of tensions between Beijing and Washington.

The stock exchange said Thursday that it would delist China Telecom Corp. Ltd., China Mobile Ltd. and China Unicom Hong Kong Ltd., with trading of the companies to be suspended sometime between Jan. 7 and Jan. 11.

The move stems from an executive order President Donald Trump issued on Nov. 12 barring investment in publicly traded companies that the U.S. government says are owned or controlled by the Chinese military.

Gordon Chang says US must push back on China: ‘What more evidence do we need?’

Gordon Chang says the U.S. "absolutely" should have a stronger policy to push back on China amid unconfirmed intelligence the country put a bounty on American troops in Afghanistan.

"I don’t think we should be maintaining relations with any regime that wants to kill Americans," Chang told Molly Line on "America’s Newsroom" Friday. "China has been harming Americans for a long time, and we have not responded."

"We need to establish deterrence," he added. "And we have failed to do that, from administration to administration."

Chang responded to recent unconfirmed intelligence, first reported by Axios, alleging that Beijing offered to pay for fighters to target and kill Americans serving in Afghanistan. A spokesman for China’s foreign ministry called the uncorroborated intelligence "a smear and slander against China" during a news briefing Thursday.

Chang argued China’s "hostility" toward the U.S. is clear, whether the report is true or not.

"China’s been selling weapons to militants in Afghanistan, and, obviously, those weapons are going to be used against Americans," Chang said. "This also mirrors something that happened in Iraq, where China was selling weapons through Iran to militants in Iraq obviously used to kill Americans."

@Redondo  Didn't read the article.  But just what you quoted, what a weird story.  One side of me says they just replaced Russia with China.  And yet, even with uncorroborated intellegence, it's probably going to be treated far differently as when this story broke out and Russia was inserted.

I believe that Biden needs to be careful if he continues to pander to China.

It will come back to hurt the American economy and us in the long run.

Was it pandering to China when we turned over our entire manufacturing economy to them ? Stop pretending it’s foreigners that are shaking us all down.
