News flash. The country has been broke for awhile.

Although I do find it interesting that those who were always concerned about spending, elected a guy that boasted he was “the king of debt.”

The Republican party hasn't been fiscally conservative or cared about running deficits for almost 4 decades they just like to say they're fiscally conservative.  Both sides have had no issues passing budgets for decades that have added to the national debt and they've added hundreds of billions in pork barrel legislation to get budgets passed.

One of our employees gave notice last week after getting approached by another company.  She was supposed to be leaving in a few weeks which given everything going on puts us in a bind  because how do you get someone in then up and running when everyone is working remote but it is what it is.  I was wondering if the position was still there for her given everything going on and how they would get her up and running.  Turns out they're going to "allow" her to push the date back which helps both us and them out but the reality is if she started on the date they first set she would be working at like 50% or less due a lack of knowledge of how they operate.

Blarg - good luck to your son.

We're hiring 4 full time people. We are going to have to onboard and train them remotely. Should be fun

Make sure they know how to set up a microphone to create the most annoying voice feedback loop so all of your contacts get to hear themselves about 2 seconds in delay. Really helps when you try and recite numbers and hear them delayed back in your ears while you are still reciting them.

We discussed this a couple weeks ago and he has about two years of savings to cover expenses. On that he is covered. But he would rather take a lower paying job and position than file for unemployment.

So grocery store or Amazon delivery.  Although I have a friend that does Amazon food/grocery delivery part time when he feels like it, and he says right now, it pays something like $40 an hour not including tips.  Oh, and In N Out.

Don't they pay their own gas and wear and tear for their vehicles?

I thought it was based on 2018 taxes. Did they change that?

It's 2019, unless you haven't files them yet, and which they will use 2018. If you got a refund last year, and used direct deposit, it will automatically be deposited. If you didn't, they will mail you a check.

It states it right in the article.

How does the U.S. government know where to send the money? If you have already filed a 2019 tax return (that’s the one most people are working on now), the Internal Revenue Service will use the direct deposit information on your 2019 return to send your payment to your bank account. If you don’t provide the IRS with your direct deposit details or you closed that account, then the IRS will mail you a check.

If you have yet to file a 2019 tax return, the IRS will see if you have filed a 2018 tax return and use that information to determine whether you meet the qualifications for a check and to find your bank details or mailing address.
