People are 100% overreacting, poorly, to this.  However, i think large gathering taking action is prudent whereas hoarding TP is fucking stupid. 
Am i concerned, id have to be stupid not to be, but im not living in fear either.  Taking proper precautions and life goes on.
Staying in this weekend, thats pretty typical for me to be honest but i have a few things planned so not entirely.
Work from home, im lucky enough to already telecommute so, yeah.
Will sports be lost for the year, no i dont think so.  Delayed, shorter seasons, all that absolutely but i believe our scientists will resolve it soon enough.

We're living in a very tumultuous time right now. Some people are scared and are panicking. There're wearing protective masks when out in public, and many are hysterically buying supplies off store shelves out of sheer ignorance or panic. I'm older than most on this board and lived through something very similar to this many years ago.

It was 1949 and the Polio epidemic was just reaching its peak in Los Angeles. Back then my 17 year old  brother caught the disease and was in an 'iron lung' for three months (and spent another three in a hospital bed recovering and re-learning how to breath and swallow on his own). I had a younger brother, 8 months old, who also caught the polio virus, but he didn't survive.

Our home was put under mandatory quarantine for two months. Signs were posted on every window and door. The only occupants allowed to leave were my parents. And they were only allowed to leave to go to the hospital to visit my older brother. And even they were escorted to and from.

The Diary truck would have to leave our milk & eggs on the front sidewalk, and the 'Helms man' who delivered the bread would have to do the same. Some of the neighbors would often leave cardboard box's of caned goods for us on the sidewalk as well. No one was allowed to approach the front porch or house any closer than the front sidewalk.

My sister was 10 and I was 5 and we had to stay inside the house for the whole two months. We couldn't even go into the back yard. We didn't have a TV back then (not many people did), so we had to entertain ourselves. There weren't many programs on the radio for kids back then either. I'm pretty sure that I learned to read by repeatedly reading and memorizing 'Archie', 'Lil Abner', and Donald Duck comic books.

I wasn't aware what was happening in the outside world at that time, but my parents later told me it was very similar to what is happening now. There was panic buying and confusion over the facts of how the (polio) virus was being spread. When people are scared they often do stupid things. And when sane people see other people doing stupid things they begin to panic also. 

My Prayer is that all of you stay safe and don't have to experience what I went through. But I assure you that before this epidemic is over there will be some families that will have gone through a living Hell.

Sorry to hear that. But you live in Montana so hopefully there aren't a ton of people around you, other than family and friends of course.

Yeah, my county is twice the size of Orange County but only has 9800 people.

it is one of the few times I am grateful to live here. (Although our hospital could be easily overwhelmed).

and it’s my fault I am diabetic.  I got way too fat.

Yeah I'm shocked I'm not, honestly. I've been extremely lucky with my health, all things considered. But I know as I get older the risk is only going to get worse.

It is so easy to go that route and I was on the edge when I decided I didn't want to fiollow my father down the insulin needle road. Are you concerned about your immune system or just getting medicine whether it is pill or insulin? Either can be an issue that isn't easy to sleep on and you have my prayers that it never becomes a factor.

Have you had the flu or pneumonia before?

Obviously you do not want to get this virus, but if worst comes to worst, if you've been exposed to that crap before you should probably be fine. It would suck ass, but you wouldn't die.

My father was the same way. He would work to exhaustion then get really bed sick. Take care and share the workload, get out of work earlier even if it costs you a couple bucks and let the time with your family keep you well. Now is the time to have a little bit of a lifestyle shift and not focus so much on the job, if you have vacation time maybe spend it one day a week mid week as a mental health day.

The Bakken is mostly North Dakota but a small piece is in Montana

I will be heading up there, the Missoula area, Sunday, looks like between snow storms. The highs will be in the 30's to low 40's during the daytime. It takes a little time to get used to that kind of persisitent cold if you are a native Californian. Reminds me I need to find my gloves.
