This is all to do about nothing really for the Dodgers.  They have unlimited funds and if they pay 17% tax this year on $15 million that is basically free for a team like that.  In 2021 they have about $120 million committed in payroll and less than $50 million the following year. So in 2021 they can give $40 million to Betts and still be well below the threshold.

I would have thought the same thing about BOS. They have MLB’s most expensive ticket and probably a commensurate TV deal. They print money.

Achilles heel or Achilles' heel

Achilles was a mythological hero and the central character of the Iliad.

You Craig'd a correction of my mistake.

I’ll just go on record and say I will be surprised if Rengifo is still on the team when opening day comes around.  I think he is being aggressively shopped.  We also know he has some value.

This is all getting very confusing

Would that be considered a "Mark"?

So TCM is really all about Taylor, Craig and Mark? Not Turner Classic Movies?

I'm really confused.

This failed trade reminded me of another failed trade of Darin Erstad to the White Sox for Jon Garland and Chris Singleton prior to 2002 season. Lots of differences but just curious if any of you thought of this - here is the link:
