How about the Luis Madero DFA? He was ranked #11 in MLB's top 30 prospect watch. AW has him at #27.

Also to everyone saying that we DFA'd our 11th ranked prospect for this guy

Also on our very own rankings he is ranked 27th but that is skewed by someone ranking him 10th. He was unranked by 6 other members.....

27. LUIS MADERO RHP (23)

Stats: 5.03 ERA, 105.2 IP, 31 walks, 98 strikeouts in A+/AA.

Ranking Trends: 10, 20, NR, NR, NR, NR, NR, NR.

ETA: 2022

Comments: Madero was a bit of a darling among Angelswin prospects hounds after his breakout 2018 campaign (3.49 ERA, 27 walks and 95 strikeouts in 105.2 IP in A/A+). While his ERA rose substantially, his peripherals held steady and perhaps we’re being a bit too bearish on him. He isn’t far from being on the major league depth chart.

Cubs would save an enormous amount of money, something like $30-35m...enough for them to get Castellanos back and make a couple other small moves. Maybe it takes another lesser piece of two, but I think the salary savings would be attractive enough for Chicago.

Angels would eat a ton, but it all hits FA after this year, and Heaney only has two years of control left anyways I believe. Basically just turn two Heaney seasons over two years into two Heaney seasons this year.

Makes the most of Heaney’s potential trade value and allows the Angels to land 60+ starts, 350+ IP of league-average, 4.00 ERA ball, presumably, without surrendering any of the key prospects we have. If things so south, they’ll have four SP between these two, Teheran, and Bundy to shop at the deadline to contenders.

Ideally Sandoval or Suarez step into Heaney’s spot next year, and the Angels ship again in FA.

Is Arte willing to take on the net increase in payroll for 2020 ($25 million) from trading Heaney for Quintana and Lester?   Plus Lester has a $10 million buyout for 2021.

they wouldn't even remotely consider something like that at all.  It would add over 30m in payroll for 2020.

Can someone, (who went to Hofstra) explain why Hofstra keeps getting referenced, I get the joke, but I also don't know where it started.

As far as Adreise for basically Madero (DFA) and Beasley, kind of think he's JC Ramirez's replacement.

I still expect the Angels to try to acquire a starter of the caliber we were discussing, but in that case, he ends up out of the pen.

Good Add.

Gotta keep the HR down.

Some east coast fuckwit came over and tried to mansplain the Cole signing for us and then threw his fancy Hofstra business education in our dumbass surferboy faces and he's been getting bitchslapped across the board ever since

and the most important part . . . we should feel honored to take JA Happ off their hands.

Thats where they were ranked prior to 2019.

MLB hasn’t updated their rankings but BA has, and they had Beasley 28 and Madero unranked.

Jeff, I have a subscription to BA.  They haven't even listed our top ten yet.  Where did you find BA's top 30 for 2020?
