Luhnow over Billy

Definitely someone the Angels should look at if they move on from Eppler. He helped take his team to two World Series. But after Eppler fine job this off-season securing the batters and the strong rotation he has we will win the division. And then it’ll be a crap shoot in the playoffs. He will definitely get a long term contract extension once he secures the division title or before that when this team is rolling this season. Wire to wire AL West champs.

Kevinb, it's cute that you created an alt so that you'd have one person who agrees with you.

Jeff Luhnow will and should never work in Major League Baseball again.

Why?

Because, at his direction, the Astros cheated and they won a World Series as a result.

To be clear, the 2017 World Series went the distance of seven games and both the Dodgers and the Astros scored a total of 34 runs in those seven games. Five of the games were decided by two runs or less. Also, five of the seven were tied or lead by the eventual loser at the midway point (after 4.5 innings). That series could not have been any closer. Also to be clear, the 2017 ALCS also went the distance and the Yankees actually outscored the Astros, 22-20. In that series, the Astros conveniently won all their home games and lost all their road games. Again, the margin of victory was incredibly thin.

The cheating was the difference.

Maybe it was maybe it wasn't. Maybe the Dodgers were cheating as well? Being kicked out for life seems rather harsh. People make mistakes and you take the punishment and move on. The punishment was he was fired, and suspended a year seems like a good enough punishment to me. If he gets hired again after this then he should count himself lucky. But he built a rather strong roster cheating or not.
