If they wanted to hit the players without doing any kind of suspension, they could have required the players pay back the world series bonus payouts. If you didn't win the series fairly you shouldn't benefit from the monetary side of it.

Yep. Apparently Manfred didn’t want to mess with the players at all. I’m not sure what was allowed with the MLBPA, though.

i did too. got a lot of information i wasn't getting from my local tv or radio stations. hacksaw was so pompous but he was informative.

around 91-92, i listened to him daily. my reader after school was a girl who has gone on to play first chair violin in the LA Phil. Saw her a couple of years ago and she reminded me of hacksaw's headlines.

and as long as we're being honest, i'll admit to having called in to his show a couple of times.

Burbank I want to hear from you!

Something about Mike Scioscia in a Red Sox hat sends chills up my spine, and not in a good way.

Like, he could manage any other team, including the Dodgers and it would be fine. But Boston? The thought just doesn't feel...right to me. It activates some primitive fear in my brain that makes me want to put a sharp rock on the end of a stick and live inside a cave and throw my feces at anyone who comes near my mammoth.

If Scioscia goes to Boston, they can expect a lot of boys from Providence, delivering cannolis.
