I was completely wrong about vargas so far. I was worried that his road stats would mean he would struggle without pitching half his game in Safeco. Hopefully he keeps it up, another quality start by him tonight.

Love the way Vargas pitches. He's like the lefthanded version of Weaver with his fastball, changeup, slider combo. Good stuff. I could see him getting better over time. He's a smart pitcher with one the league's best changeup's.

Morales is mashing right now but Vargas is absolutely on fire too. He looks like a good bet to get to 200 innings with a sub 4 ERA.

I have appreciated him for a long time.  I can't imagine what it must have been like for him up in Seattle knowing that if he gave up a single run, he would run a strong chance of getting a ND or L due to the historically incompetent offense behind him.  Glad he's doing well for the Halos this year.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind bringing him back on a two-year type deal (if he accepts it) if he can continue to be a good middle of the rotation guy.
