This must not be settled until Hawk Harrelson declares whether the team's Willingness to Win (WtW) is better with Trout in CF or in LF (with Bourjos in CF).

Next to CERA the WtW statistic is the most important number in the 12 billion year history of the history. It's just science folks.

I'm not going to lie, I would prefer Trout to stay in center. I am not completely diminishing the idea that Bourjos should be in center. I know Trout's arm is average at best. But there hasn't been a very recent memory where Bourjos arm is anywhere near Francoeur ability, or even made that much of a difference. I'm sure you can find the stats to support Bourjos being the better CF'er but we shouldn't dismiss superstition and whatnot so quickly. Let's agree to disagree. Play Bourjos at LF for like a week, considering he left with a hamstring issue, playing there would save his legs a bit. At this point, I don't care who plays where as long as we keep winning games dammit.

I don't care where anybody plays. I just want to win. I don't agree with everything Mike does but I'd say he knows a lot more than I do about what is best for this team. If he thinks it is best for Trout to be in LF, then so be it. I'm sure Trout feels the same way.

Most here know I think Petey is pretty damn good.  But if the Angels can get a good arm for him, I'm all for trading him.

 

Except for one thing;  who plays in the outfield?  You could say Trumbo but then we have no decent DH nor do we have a good backup for Pujols (who clearly needs the rest).

 

If Calhoun is the answer, that's fine but he is totally unproven.  I'm guessing that if Dipoto really believed Calhoun was ready he would have traded Petey over the off-season.

Peter had no value in the offseason because he virtually never played in the second half last year.

Which is why trading him would've been a mistake. His value wasn't any lower than it was this past offseason.

Only if you can get a solid young arm for Bourjos. If so, I'm in favor of trading him.

 

If that happens, we have two good options for LF in AAA.

 

Kole Calhoun and Matt Long (Who I feel is pretty underrated).

JB Shuck is a decent fill in, but not a long term guy IMO.
