Gerrit Cole signs with the Yankees (9 years, $324 million)

Albert was older at the time he signed his 10 year deal with the halos than Rendon is right now even after spending two of his 7 year deal with the team.  The comparison is absurd.

We were all disappointed, myself included (actually downright pissed). Eppler, and now Minasian have continually failed to acquire the necessary starting pitching. 

But hindsight is a wonderful tool. Nine years for Gerrit Cole is downright hilarious now that the new ball doctoring rules are in effect. From where we are right now, there doesn't appear to be much difference between Cole now and Cole when he was with the Pirates.
