not to get into politics, but I really hope they keep all these teams. So many towns rely on these teams for jobs let alone just a nice way to get away from everyday life.

There isn't much that I agree with the Bern, but this happens to be one of them. I don't want to see affiliated minor league baseball removed from 42 communities across the US.

He has made a small adjustment to his platform.  If he wins, every fan gets their own free minor league team.

Remember when baseball wanted to contract the Angels? I hope they back down on this too. Several of these teams look profitable.

Im with him on this point 100%, minor league baseball is so important to so many communities, it would be terrible to see this lost in the name of profits.

I don't understand the minor league system as it is. Each team really should have 3 levels A AA AAA. The players should be paid more at each level and the travel should be better.

Except that isn’t enough disparity in talent.  17 year olds competing with 22 year olds in A ball?

Trout came up at 19 and played in the bigs. People can do it. It just doesn't happen enough. If they change the system people will get used to it. Kids who are 19 jump into the NBA with grown men and that is a much more physically demanding sport then baseball.

Yes Trout and Arod and Griffey and Acuna can all do it.   And thousands can’t.

Also NBA players use pure athleticism which a player can have at 19.  MLB players need reps except for the very best and the absolute freaks.

But thousands can play in A ball against older competition by a year or two. And if they can't well then they probably aren't going to make the bigs anyway.

You get reps by playing which 19 year olds would in A ball.

Yes.  Which is why they need more than 3 teams.
