If you had asked me ten years ago how many playoff appearances the Angels would make and how many World Series they would have won in the next decade, I'd have told you 5 playoff appearances and one championship.

One playoff appearances and not even advancing to the ALCS.... Yeah, I guess it was a tough decade. I'm not the oldest guy here, but I do remember being a casual kid fan in the 90's, but never making the playoffs back then never bothered me so much, I suppose because the expectation was never there.

This last decade, the expectation had been built, following the hugely successful 2000's. And it was a disappointment to say the least.

For the 2020's, I see Trout and Ohtani, a strong farm and money to spend.

I'm again going to guess 5 playoffs and a World Series.

A lot of things went right for the Angels the one year that they made the playoffs this decade. Career seasons from Richards, Shoemaker, Rasmus (retired?) and Smith, as well as a bounce back year for the overpaid Pujols, who has been stealing money from this franchise for years. The 2020 team need something like that to happen to make the postseason. A few surprise contributors as well as Upton bouncing back and once again being a solid bat in the lineup.

Pujols 600th home run and 3000th hit constitute two of them? Good Lord, no.

Also, the Angels rallying against Rodney in 2014, with the accompanying mock-arrow-shooting from Trout and Pujols, would be my #4 after the three no-hitters.

(Also, of course, that was against the Mariners.)

I was in attendance for four of the ten. 1, 2, 5, 8. Not bad considering six were home games.

I've turned the page on that decade,....sans Trout. Not good.

Looked it up, I was there for a few of those. Was lucky enough to be "backstage" at a few of them, too.

Two things come to mind. 1, it doesnt seem that long ago that we were at least pretty good. But then you see the dates, and go "sh*t, its been that long?"

And 2. Now I feel old. And depressed.

Trumbos walkoff against the yanks in 2012. Weaver got blown up (hurt), angels chipped away. Trumbo had a huge night, then capped it with an absolute bomb in the 10th(?).

Just the way a great third baseman is supposed to hit in clutch situations.

He was at 3B for weavers no no, too.

Stellar defense, obviously.

We joke about it, but honestly, in his defense, going to 3B was pretty ballsy. They wanted his bat in the lineup (we all did), and it was basically "go ahead kid, how hard could it be?" Essentially, he had never played there.... cant blame him for the misplays.

Ohtani and madbum in october aside, pitchers forget to hit as soon as they hit mlb. Taking a guy who was drafted as a pitcher, having him play 1B for years, then out of nowhere send him to one of the hardest defense positions with his learning curve at mlb level... i cant even network my stupid alexa devices. WITH the youtube videos to help.

Trouts slam off sale. I was lucky enough to be behind the plate for that one.

Yep, that one came to mind, as well as his 4th-of-July walkoff in '14.

I thought of a bunch of them before reading the list. Pujols's "milestones" didn't even enter my mind.
