I dont like the pitcher/position player designations. Arent they restricting the number of pitchers on a roster next year, too.?  I dont like that either

I do appreciate the effort.... trying to limit the sheer number of pitchers.  A change to option rules would be more effective.

Last season Ohtani was listed as a DH. Hopefully he would not have to be subject to a 15-day IL stint for an injury not related to pitching.

He won't qualify as 2 way player at the beginning of season. He will be listed as a pitcher until he has  pitched 20 innings and has played DH for 20 games; then he can be listed as a 2 way player.

Why does Manfred feel he has to fuck with everything from the windings on the baseball to how players are designated on the Injury list? He really is the worst commissioner of baseball and Selig set the bar pretty low.

I really don't get why they are doing this.

I'd imagine for Ohtani, if he goes on the IL, he'll be allowed to hit after 10 days and pitch after 15.
