You can get a 9-month season pass for like $120.

We used to carry season passes when we went to SoCal more often. As I recall, they weren't all that much more than a one-day ticket, which makes it a no-brainer if you're going to return even once.

Daughter and I have season passes to U.S. It’s been just okay. They have a limited number of rides because they don’t have real estate available to really expand the park. Doesn’t really have the appeal of Disneyland, Knotts, or Magic Mountain for me.

That said, I could ride Jurassic World ten times in a day without tiring of it. The Simpsons is hilarious and the Minions ride is, as well.  The Transformers ride is okay. The Mummy is very herky jerkey and made my knees hurt. There are two Harry Potter rides. One of them is decent but probably is far more meaningful to someone who knows the stories in the series. The second ride isn’t worth your attention. It’s about a 45 second crappy little outdoor coaster that is a waste of space. They just shut down the Water World show for a while but we’re not really sure why. The studio tram tour seems really tired right now and needs a reset. Kung Fu Panda is cute. The animal show and the stunt show are entertaining. The butter beer in Harry Potter’s world is . . . interesting.

My wife and I had season passes last year, but we only went a total of two times (which was still a bargain). We've now decided that we'll only go once per year, during Halloween Horror Nights.

That’s the one event we unequivocally avoid.

I don’t think there’s enough to do at Universal, to be perfectly honest. It’s incredibly close and convenient to go, but I’d rather have a Disney pass where there’s so much more to experience.
