why would they dump him now though unless they were close to signing someone.  The non-tender deadline isn't till Dec. 2nd.

It’s kind of crazy that the most popular name that keeps coming up as teams having interest is Wheeler.  Today it is the Twins that are interested and making their best offer up front.  Yesterday it was the White Sox.

Im very curious to see what Wheeler ends up getting contract wise. It seems like a lot of these teams have made Wheeler their number 1 priority. I think I saw the Reds name pop up as well. Wheeler might end up getting a lot more than even he ever expected to get. 
 

At what point do you start to focus elsewhere instead of getting into a bidding war with 10 other teams

Not that crazy, is it?  He's cheaper than Cole, so more teams can afford him.

No I get that, but it is Wheeler more so than any other guy so far.  I haven’t heard Keuchel come up at all except in package deal with Cole to the Angels.  No news at all about Ryu.

Then the next guy will be a bidding war with 9 teams, so not ideal either. We gotta choose our guys and go all in.

I think Keuchel probably has more question marks than Wheeler, despite Wheeler's injury history.  I don't think anyone is champing at the bit to be the dude who gives a 3-4-year deal to Keuchel, who seems like he could just fall off the cliff at any point.

Ok, one is going to get 3 years and $45 million the other seems destined for 5 years and $110 million.  There are a lot more teams looking to spend $45 million than there are teams looking to spend $100 plus million.
