Reagins is a lot better than he gets credit for--you have to factor in the Arte interference (forcing Reagins to trade for Wells). At least the team was winning when he was GM.

I hate those excuses.  We do not have direct confirmation that it was Arte that insisted on the Wells trade.

Regains was the GM.  He was responsible for coming late to the winter meetings.  He is responsible for the Wells trade (absent of Artie admitting it was his decision)

We failed to sign Beltre.  We failed to sign Crawford (which was a blessing).  His failed to only draft Cam Bedrosian that has been worth  damn in the 2010 draft despite having five picks in top 40.

That said he was a hell of a lot better than Dumbshito and the jury is still out on Eppler.

Yep. So was Kendrick, Lackey, Weaver, Morales, Fletcher, K-Rod, Percival, Salmon, GA, Edmonds, Joyner, Finley and Napoli just to name a few.

Aybar wasn't too bad at SS

And if we are going back to GA and Efmonds let's add Glaus

Eppler would definitely be fired next offseason for making this trade.

Didn't Brsndon Wood really struggle in AA?  Adell kicked ass in AA

you couldn’t possibly think the Angels would take on the whole contract, right??

@Stradling you guys aren’t getting what I’m saying. We can all agree Angels would never pay the entire contract. The trade off is the more the Angels pay then the less they give up in prospects. All I’m saying is I’m not sure the Red Sox eat $15M/yr on his contract. This is why I think the Angels would overpay for Price. Either financially or in prospects. I’d be shocked if they can get him for around $17M/yr and not have to give up better prospects.

If Eppler signs Nick Castellanos, I'm going throw up. It's like we entered the off-season in need of an ace, a mid rotation starter, and a catcher. That's it. And so far the every has looked like this.

Angels lose out on Grandal - Darn. It's ok, they're saving their money for the ace and mid rotation starter we are getting. We'll just get some other catcher. It'll be fine.

Angels trade for Dylan Bundy - Ok. Doesn't really solve the need for an ace, mid-rotation starter or catcher, but innings coverage is nice for the back end. Decent move. Let's see what Eppler does next.

Angels lose out on Zack Wheeler - That sucks, but no problem. There are plenty of options out there. It'll be ok.

Angels lose out on Strasburg - Darn. It's ok. We knew he was likely going back to Washington anyway. Besides, Cole is the ace we all really want.

Angels lose out on Cole - Ok. This does not look good. The Angels still really need an ace, and a #3, and a catcher and this just got harder. A lot harder. Not looking good.

Angels sign Anthony Rendon - Wow! I can't believe that just happened! We have an amazing offense and incredible defensive infield! Sure it doesn't solve any of our actual needs, but how exciting! Clearly, Dallas Keuchel is coming this way, as a ground ball specialist. If you squint just right, he's the #3 we need. And I see they're interested in Kluber. Eppler is a genius!

Angels lose out on Kluber - Ouch. That one hurts. It's ok though. Keuchel and Ryu are the #3 and #1 they need, and they won't cost any prospects.

Angels sign Julio Teheran - Ok, starting to be concerned. These really don't seem to match what the Angels need. He's good to have though. Good innings, and the ERA is decent, I guess. They still need that #1, #3 and catcher though.

Angels lose out on Bumgarner - That's disappointing, but it's ok, we weren't totally sold on him anyway. Still.... Getting pretty nervous.

Angels lose out on Keuchel - Ok, what the frick is going on Eppler? I mean.... Are you going to trade for the #3 starter? What are you doing? Obviously we are getting Ryu, but we need more than just him.

Angels lose out on Ryu - ...........I hate you, Billy. I hate you so very very much. Here we are, 2 months, and 270 million dollars later, and we are no closer to having any of the others we need, or a catcher.

You guys do realize Billy Eppler is the GM here, right? The guy loves defense, moreso than any GM in the business. Nick Castellanos is the anti-Eppler. Really bad defensively no matter where you try to hide him. You can't DH him either, not with Ohtani.

If this does happen, you can expect to say bye bye to Adell and Marsh, and God help our pitchers. Anything other than a fly ball right at our corner outfielders would result in a double.

Angels haven’t over paid for anything. The chances of us over paying for price are the same as the chances we over pay for some other pitcher. It’s speculation and we don’t know what’s going on. I wouldn’t mind price if we don’t over pay, but I’m not going to accuse the angels of over paying when nothing has even happened  and we don’t know if anything will even happen.

Eh. He brought in Upton.

Also, why would we be saying bye to Adell and Marsh? Are you expecting Castellanos to get a 5 year deal or something?

I don't really care because it's just a fun thought, not a legitimate "we need to get this guy".

I don’t think he’s getting a one year deal. There’s not really room for him unless Pujols is getting benched or Upton and/ or Adell/Marsh are getting moved.

I don't think Castellanos is ridiculous at all, they could play him at 1B, some DH'ing, some LF because Upton apparently can't hit LHP anymore, and he could be insurance for Adell in case things don't go smoothly out of the gate with him.

Everyone keeps wanting to plug La Stella in around the diamond when in reality he is a utility guy who can hit RHP only. I think the Angels can do better with a big bat at 1B whether that is Walsh, Thaiss, Ward, Castellanos, or Mancini for instance.
