I figured that this is worthy of its own thread. Did anyone else catch the first episode yet? I really think that this has the potential to be truly great. I loved it. I never watched "The Leftovers" and boy was I disappointed in the end of "Lost,," but Lindeloff is off to a strong start on this one.

Watched it last night...enjoyed it. Not sure how much I need to read up...Times had a primer for people "new to watchman", so it gave a little backstory but not a bunch.

I honestly think that Snyder's film was really, really good, but might not be a great intro to this since it's not considered canon and changed some things up. The comic honestly doesn't take long to read at all.

I think it's a criminally underrated film... at least the directors cut (never saw the theatrical).

Yep, the Ultimate Cut is absolutely fantastic.

Also of interest is that this is shining a light on a relatively unknown and completely horrific event:

I think that most people would have no idea that the scene was actually representative of something that happened.

I know! Isn't it crazy? You'd think that this kind of thing would be covered in history classes.

Did you learn about this in school @Lou? I'm just checking to see if private schools had this in their curriculum.

Lou only learned about the zoot suit riots in school.

Watched ep 1. Not for me

Yeah, it obviously has a destination but I'm not sure I want to continue the journey.

never seen any of these. but i've heard the hbo one is pretty good.

"watchmen" always makes me think of "go set a watchman," harper lee's book that was written before "to kill a mockingbird" but just published a few years ago.

it was ok.

you do realize that 99.98% of AW has no idea what the hell you're talking about, right?

the sony watchman was a nice little toy, but it was expensive and you couldn't always pick up a good tv signal.

the sony walkman was an absolute game-changer.
