I know I'm a total hypocrite, because I've eaten like 10 things with dairy in them today, but it's not just that the cow mothers "cry." It's that they're forcefully inseminated, and then after they give birth, their calves are taken away from them in under 24 hours. It's been scientifically proven to cause long-term stress (you might call it trauma) for both the mother and the calf. In an ideal scenario, a calf would wean for 6 to 7 months before being separated from its mother.

Best steak I have ever had was in Santa Maria at The Swiss. It looks like a blue hair place, established back in 1941 and the main dining room has that high leather booth vibe but the crowd is extremely diverse. I had the filet oscar and it was the best bite I've ever had. If you are ever up that way stop in for dinner.

Because cows deserve their fate the fat dumb animals that they are.
