Logically he (or any GM) would come in before hiring a manager. But things are happening too quickly. Not much time for a detailed evaluation of the franchise and putting his people in place. Or strategizing with current staff.

The only way I see him coming here (and it's very remote) is if he and Maddon are philosophically on the same page, and have a familiarity with each other. Or if he already has someone else in mind.

Arte too would have to be all in, ready to fire Eppler quickly and change direction suddenly.

No way it happens.

Head of operations is more complex, but also requires a sudden rethink of the entire organization.

no he didn't.  Friedman left the Rays and then Maddon exercised an option in his contract that stated he could leave if Friedman left.

Yep, this one.

Word on the street is Arte is pissed and is going to tell Carpino that if he doesn’t fire Eppler and hire Friedman then Arte is going to fire Carpino.

Where do you see this?

Well, technically, Eppler is just the GM while Carpino would likely be the one replaced in that scenario...or they just hire Friedman, name his "Executive in Charge of Overseeing All Baseball Stuff", and both Carpino and Eppler continue in their same roles

Hasn't Carpino been with Arte since the beginning? Highly doubt Carpino is going anywhere.

Would be the best move out there. Highly doubt he leaves the Dodgers for anything other than Boston.

Long term I’m not sure they are in a better position than us.  They have expensive pitchers under contract for several more seasons that are experiencing arm issues.  They have Betts who is trade bait, they have JD with the opt out in a few weeks.  They do have Boegarts and Devers which is a nice place to start.  They have no farm left.

Well, like I said, Carpino doesn't really have to go anywhere.  He can stay in his complicity which, as I understand,  is more on the business side while Friedman and Eppler handle the business side.  I mean, we're only dealing with pure hypotheticals anyway as if Frieman was indeed already released but, if Arte wanted to get Friedman and retain Carpino, I can't see a reason why he couldn't.

I was just meaning in terms of prestigious jobs. Dodgers are one of the marquee franchises of MLB, and one of maybe 3 or 4 in baseball actually exist.
