OC Register: Kole Calhoun enters what could be the final week of his Angels career

Last Thursday night I was at the game, Calhoun was at bat and the entire left side of the infield was wide open. He still played the game of over the line and grounded out to the 2nd baseman playing in short right field.

I will not miss that part of his one dimensional hitting game at all.

I think they should bring him back. Decline his option and tell him to go out looking on the free agent market for a deal that will make him happy. If he doesn't find it tell him to call back and Eppler can give him a one year contract for ~$3 mil in a lesser role.

He is a useful enough player that it's hard for me to imagine him not finding a way to contribute, it's just a matter of cost. As an insurance policy on Joe Adell and the health of Justin Upton not to mention maybe some reps at first base, he could see some important ABs. After all he's one of the few players who managed to stay in the lineup this year.
