Unless you are getting a young cy young type with controllable years, or one of the other superstars listed on this thread, OR an ungodly package of equally talented kids that address other needs, such as a legit projected level C and 3B for example.  No, you dont trade him.  
The bottom line is that those trades likely dont exist right now.

we need a cheap RFer as much as we need a C and there isn't a catching prospect out there likely to have the ceiling of Adell.  

Plus, and most importantly to me is that he's our guy.

Good morning to everyone, glad I could bring everyone together!

To clarify what Im asking. Adell is just the example I went with, because i have no idea what a ballpark trade value would be for any of the other guys in the minors right now. And hes the only name most on here are familiar with, unless you really follow the minors thread.

So what Im asking isnt necessarily about adell. And I have no idea (like Doc is saying here) if there is any C prospect out there who projects well. What I'm asking is about trading from surplus.

Would the overall lineup be better with a handful of studs, and the rest filler? Or trout/ohtani as the only superstars, with the rest of the lineup the howie kendrick type? (Not superstar, but always top 5).

Considering that Kole is a FA, Goodwin and Fletcher are not good permanent options in the OF, and Adell has some insane potential, trading him would be an awful idea.

Adjusted question: adell for imaginary C who will be a long term fixture there, and a bonafide closer?

Again. Im not asking about adell specific, hes just common name. So would we be better off with one really good assett, or a more diverse portfolio, so to speak?
