Remind me again why CEOs aren't overpaid, and why the business structure in this country at the top doesn't still have SEVERE issues that leads to this ridiculous pay for CEOs and board members.

 

Compared to those CEOs who failed and still got nine figures for buyouts, Wells' contract was a bargain.

I love the ones who lay off hundreds or thousands of people, then get big bonuses for increasing the profitability of the company.

 

This is the kind of thing that made the Enron debacle possible.

they can by electing a new board. it's the board that decides all the shit. it's stupid because they're all buddies.

you have no idea what a ceo's compensation for a given year will be. again it's the board who determines it. obviously, the ceo's compensation is based on performance, but when the huge compensation comes with large rounds of layoffs, people get irked.

If there's a company that won't provide you the information you're looking for and/or is operating in a way you don't agree with (laying people off to pay big executive salaries), don't invest with them.
