Yes, they won their conference and were the #2 seed in the Stanford regional.

45-11

Ranked just a little bit outside the top 10 teams nationally, and yes that ouster in the Stanford regional was disappointing.

This was their best chance to get to Omaha.   Now, their coach Dave Checketts is one of the rumored favorites to take the Oregon job.

similar philosophy as last year so far.

upside college player at #1 this time.  but overall, BPA.

then a big time high ceiling guy followed by two more guys with a high ceiling.

then the money save for rounds 5-10 with college pitchers.  most of those guys will go under slot.  likely another land grab on guys with reliever potential.  maybe a couple back end starters.

rounds 11-13/14 will be a couple of flyers with some high upside that will likely top the 125k assigned to 11-30.

but it's basically two position players followed by a slew of pitchers.

and I know that a bunch of the pitchers were juniors this year so I do expect there to be some going close to slot, but they all seem like guys who likely had predetermined deals.

also guessing that Wilson goes under slot and the 2nd and 3rd picks go right at slot.  I think the 4th rounder goes over slot.

I also like 134. Carter Bins C. But who knows if we have capped out on drafting catchers from Fresno State.

Scouting grades: Hit: 45 | Power: 50 | Run: 40 | Arm: 60 | Field: 55 | Overall: 45

A 35th-round pick out of a Northern California high school by the Phillies in 2016, Bins turned them down to attend Fresno State. He became an immediate starter behind the plate for the Bulldogs and has blossomed into one of the better defensive catchers in college baseball. A team that believes enough in his bat could take him in the top three rounds.

Bins has a chance to become a plus receiver with arm strength to match. He moves well behind the plate, possesses soft hands, blocks well and makes accurate throws. He also earns praise for his instincts and leadership skills.

Bins' bat will determine whether he can become a starting catcher at the big league level. He has shown better discipline and made more consistent contact this spring, but his right-handed swing can get long and he'll probably hit more for power than average. While he hasn't driven the ball as much in 2019 as he did a year ago, he has solid to plus raw power.

Best remaining college player after Day 2. Interesting. #134 MLB.com, #92 Baseball America.

Interesting HS kid from Texas Jared Southard with our 20th rounder.  ranked 154 by mlb.  curious about signability at this point.

Yeah; guys like this you usually take in the 11th-13th because you are pretty sure they will sign or wait until the 36th round as a "might as well" pick. 20th Round is a weird spot.
