Why not keep both Trumbo and Cron.  Trumbo can man an OF spot.

I am not ready to anoint Cron as being the next trumbo and I think Trumbo is improving.

I do think Bourjos is a little redundant with Trout being able to man CF and the fact that Trout is a good LFer but better at CF with an increased value there.

If you can get a pitcher of equal value to Bourjos on the pitching side then I think it makes the team better overall as long as you can replace the OF production appropriately.  ie Trumbo to LF and a capable DH until Cron is ready.

That's why I think the offseason is a better time.  Get a stopgap DH like a hafner type. If Cron is ready, then he gets abs.  If not, you have a backup.   That is contingent on getting Vargas back and getting rid of Blanton.

Be at .500 by the All Star Break. That's about 40 games away. If they can't at least go 25-15 from here on out..(which would leave them at 43-42) then they aren't going to make a run.

I don't want us trading any more prospects wherever we are by the All Star break.

i agree.

The team needs to play at a 99.16 win pace rest of season to end up with 90 wins. Doable, but highly unlikely.

This would only get us to the coin flip game. Texas is on pace to win 103 games. Considering they will be getting a few healthy starting pitchers back later this summer this is completely sustainable.

I'm not trying to convert anybody to my way of thinking, but I think Cron makes Trumbo expendable. They are of the same skill set, but since Trumbo is more experienced and proven I would assume he can fetch more in a trade.

Is Cron really that good that he can replace Trumbo?
