Trout OBP Thread

It’s at .476 right now. It’s not often you worry about a guy getting put on first base TOO MUCH. But with Trout, it’s an actual concern. Going to be an issue until Upton and Ohtani get back. Why would you pitch to him instead of Bour

Well i think hes going to maintain a very high OBP at least till they get back... anyone actually pitching to him at this point without a very large lead is basically an idiot.

I was shocked when the Mariners "pitched to" Trout down one with two outs last night. 

The pitcher then proceeded to throw three nowhere near the zone and they intentionally put him on without throwing a fourth pitch. 

We will be seeing Trout unintentionally, intentionally walked a lot until Ohtani or Upton come back.

Opposing teams should just put him on base every time up. They wouldn't be taking much of a risk with that strategy.

Depends on the guys around him. If your team is complete shit every where else like we are right now then you want Trout's power. If you had a bunch of guys who raked, him being on base 100% of the time would probably be optimal

Of course there's no risk... the rest of the team is hitting like .100 with RISP

It's not out of the question to think he can end the season with a .480-.490 OBP

I can careless about his obp ... he’s a lock to be somewhere close to .500 anyways. 

I prefer he puts the ball in play rather than walking .... unfortunately he doesn’t have much control over that if they’re pitching around him
