Another driving tax on the way?

State senator talks about "congestion pricing" on the Bay Bridge in this interview. This is being suggested for traffic on the westside of LA/Santa Monica to get to the beach, and the idea seems to be that it will reduce traffic congestion in specific pockets here.

Has congestion pricing actually reduced traffic on the Bay Bridge during peak hours? If that's the goal, and outwardly it seems to be, has this tax worked? If it hasn't reduced volume, then it's just another tax.

regardless, eff these effers for even thinking of creating yet another tax as a solution.

How do you reduce congestion when there is literally no other route to take or if there are they are just as hammered?  Its asinine and nothing more than another money grab.

A $4 fee to drive into the 4.3-square-mile area during weekday rush hour could almost immediately reduce traffic delays and miles driven there by more than 20%, the analysis found.

This is where I work and has nothing to do with beach traffic. The traffic jams at the 10 freeway because of the glut of working people trying to get home at the junction of the 405 and traffic from here all the way to downtown and beyond is near gridlock.

It's a money grab, they are doing absolutely nothing to reduce traffic, they know people have to work and will have to pay the toll. If they were focusing on beach traffic then put the toll at the beach. But that's not going to happen because the promenade would take a hit and they would lose tourist money. 

It is a study funded to find an excuse to steal money, a taxation without representation since the funds do not solve any problem.

Do you really think that's what California politicians are about? What gives you that idea? Up until this point, all of their financial decisions have been well though out and our tax monies managed well.

All sarcasm aside, you really dont want to know what i think they are all about as i dont see a single redeeming quality coming out of Sacramento these days.

Eventually, they are going to say to relieve congestion, they are going to make all freeways tolls.  

Then instead of spending money on maintaining the freeways, they will spend the money on some pet project.
