We learned nothing. That being said this looks like the same uninspired team as past years. We need to hit a grand slam with this current batch of prospects.

Don't knock Stella the beer. It beats the mass-produced swill that make up the Big Three (or is it two?) "domestic" brewers call "beer".

Stella the ballplayer did have our only extra base hit (and the FIRST hit of the Angels' season).

2000's wasn't all that either, outside of a young Washburn.   Schoeneweis, Bottomfield, Hill, and Cooper the rest to start that season?

SIXTEEN different pitchers made a start in 2000.   And that was back when pitchers were more durable than today.

You can't draw meaningful conclusions from 1 game.

What you can do, is look around the lineup and wonder where exactly the wins are going to come from for the month of April. There's not a whole lot to like about the depth of the team. Fletcher is no savior but he needs to play - get his glove in the game.

I'm not optimistic about Cozart, Pujols, La Stella, Lucroy, Bourjos, etc. That seems like a lot of replacement level performance to me
