Davis got popped for Adderall usage in 2014 when he hit .196, the year after he went nuts and put up a career best 168 OPS+.   He claimed he previously had a TUE for it's usage and had gone back to them without permission... whatever the case...  He rebounded pretty nicely in 2015 before starting this downward spiral of his.   I've seen multiple sources say his bat speed is shot -- so he may just be done or..... whatever he was doing medically isn't working anymore.

He hit .168 last year in 470 at bats. He really has never been that good at hitting a baseball consistently. He just happens to hit it really far if he ever hits it. He makes Pujols look like a steal.

I'd be okay with AP keeping up what he's done so far -- that .368 OBP is the highest he's posted as an Angel.   The pop seems gone but if could manage to get on base and stay near his .740 OPS, he wouldn't be the black hole he's been the last two seasons.

As others have said -- maybe this is his dead cat bounce season.

that hr he hit vs. the dogs at the A during spring was glorious and what he should be trying to do every time ie hit the ball hard the other way and walk 60+ times.

Davis was a genuine three true outcomes player. He’s now just capable of one of those outcomes.

As much as many loathe the AP contract, Davis’s is so much worse.

Just to nitpick, he's 0 for his last 44, not to start the season. And the record is 46 consecutive AB without a hit.

Davis is 0-23 so far this year, with 13 Ks. -0.5 fWAR...in 8 games!

Time for the Orioles to cut Davis, the Angels can sign him to a minor league deal and then Eppler can determine the guy just needed glasses. He can go back to mashing 50 homeruns a year. Oh and he needs to get back on the steroids that will turn his weak fly balls into homeruns again.

He'll end up with the A's and somehow hit .260 with 40 HR and an .880 OPS.

Indians placed Mike Clevinger on the DL, and it could be 6 to 8 weeks before he picks up a baseball.
