The incident happened on August 29. The coroner's report was probably done before the end of the regular season, or at least by early in the playoffs. Of course, they couldn't have attention to their post-season run distracted by a trivial issue like one of their fans being fatally injured at a game.

The coroner didn't require a month to post the cause of death but regardless, the death happened three days after the event and no one from the the Los Angeles Times covered the story. Not one sentence about a fan dying as result of a foul ball.
