Maybe they had a dime on the Steelers and it was the 4th quarter and they were driving...

Reminds me of a joke:

Man walks up to a guy in Vegas and says: "hello, sir. I hate to bother you, but my wife is at home and she's very ill. I need $500 for her medications or she may not make it through the night"

Guy responds:" I'd love to help you out, but how do I know that you're not just going to take the money and go into a casino and gamble it away?"

First guy answers:" oh, I've got gambling money"

With respect, I honestly don't understand how someone can experience a debilitating, life-threatening illness and not go to the emergency room.

Well, if they can't pay they might have to declare bankruptcy, and that's not a good thing at all. So they self-medicate and hope the pain will go away.

It's understandable. Most people, hypochondriacs excepted, tend to deny the pain is really a serious illness.

I'd rather be in debt than be dead.

Still better than debilitating pain or death.  Plenty of people with insurance ignore signs or turn to webmd/social media for advice when they should be in a hospital talking to someone who is actually qualified.

And how does declaring bankruptcy help with the problem of “i can’t afford the medical care I need ” ?

Usually I would not like this.  But since it’s the fucking rat boy I find it hilarious.

This is the greatest thing I've ever seen. A terrific example of why democracy is stupid. Voters are stupid and uninformed.

I love that the young volunteer tries to change the lady's mind. She was actually pretty cool. I couldn't imagine what some Lisa Loeb looking broad would have said to that old lady in an urban area.
