What made any of you think this wouldn't be the cost?

Calolfornia and most politicians are like the cable company.  They will sell you on the $19.99 deal.  But then you sign up and realize that after taxes and fees, it's $39.99.  Then after the promotion period ends, it's $79.99.

Americans who promote socialist single payer health should really read and understand what it means for those requiring urgent services.

The UK healthcare system is grossly under staffed and many surgeries like hip replacement, knee repair and cataract surgeries are denied because they fall into a category the government has determined as "limited clinical value." They show the same indifference to glucose monitoring and hernia surgeries.

Do you think our current system is good? I currently pay $700 a month for health insurance for myself, and my son. That's on top of what my employer pays. What does this grant me? The ability to spend $40 every time I want to see my doctor. I have a condition, and my doctor decided I should have an MRI. My insurance company? They decided to override my doctor, and claim it wasn't needed, and wouldn't cover it. I needed to see a neurologist specialist. Soonest appointment was 6 weeks out. Every appointment still another $40. They scheduled a brain scan, that again after it was done my insurance company wasn't necessary, so there was $300 out of pocket I didn't know but was going to pay. So far on top of my normal insurance payments I make, I've paid nearly $1000, and the only thing I've received is some fucking pain pills, and nother that has really helped my condition. Our system is shit, and fuck anyone that would defend it.

Edit: And fuck all elected Republicans that have tried to get rid of pre-existing conditions protections for the last 8 years.

No? Ok, I guess ignorance can be bliss. You are welcome to believe the Federal Government is salvation.

Not anything close to what I said. I've already gone on the record of being against Medicare for all, because it would be too much of a shock to our system. You want want me to read an article, post one that has a solution to the shit we have, not one that makes excuses for not changing it.

Tell me why I should accept "the richest nation in the world" still continues to allow people to die, or go into financial ruin because they are sick. Meanwhile, the pocket book is open for military spending.

Me not reading your article isn't because "I choose to stay ignorant." It's because it only makes excuses, and doesn't offer solutions.

What's your solution?

Gradually working toward a universal healthcare system. Passing laws to correct our current deficiencies like the ACA did for preexisting conditions. Maybe passing something like a maximum healthcare cost based off income .

Read the article then tell me what it said instead of marking up your mind beforehand.

Just read it, and yep it's exactly what I thought. No solutions for fixing healthcare problems, just talking shit on their current system. They mention the government overriding a doctor's recommendation, well I just had an insurance company override my doctor's recommendation. My procedure would have cost $600. I'm pretty sure Anthem/Blue Cross wouldn't go bankrupt from that.

Is it covered under your policy?

Apparently not. They called me the day of my appointment to tell me it wasn't. My doctor thought it was necessary, apparently anthem/blue Cross thought it wasn't. By the way, I have the best plan they offer through my company. Six months now, and I'm in the exact same spot I was before I decided to go to a doctor for my problem. I'm one of the lucky ones though, because at least my shit isn't life threatening, and won't bankrupt me.

Maybe the solution is not going all in on a losing proposition. The problems in the UK health care service is embedded in the Canadian health care system. It seems to be a commonality of socialised medicine with single payer and no recourse through choosing another plan or working with your provider.

I am coming close to my fourth year of being cancer free. If were treated for the same symptoms in the UK health care system I would not be typing this today. The spread of that particular cancer, which is very common in men, does not allow for long wait periods for treatment.

Real consequences for real choices. I would not choose at the polls to shackle you with that health care system.

My insurance provider is also Anthem Blue Cross.

Yeah, but you have money. There are other people that have been in your situation that don't. I say again for the 3rd time I'm not a Medicare for all guy, at least not where our system is at now,but don't show me an article about other countries deficiencies in healthcare. It's not productive, and offers no solutions. We spend more per capital in healthcare than any other country, answer aren't any better for it.
