Did you pay out of pocket for a specialist? Kaiser only does one procedure

I paid a total of $150 for a specialist ($75 for consultation, $75 for procedure). I also was scheduled within 30 days.

Of course Kaiser only does one procedure that they've done since 1950. I'm sure that one uses a plastic knife.

This was my experience too. Plus, my doctor had a nurse holding a phone for him so he could talk to his wife about their weekend plans while performing the procedure.

I can also still smell the scent of burnt veins from the cauterizer.

I had mine done 27 years ago and I don't remember anything painful or any bruising.  I do remember some tugging down there when he was tying the knot.

The only thing that got my attention for a bit was right before the procedure.  The doctor told the nurse that he needed his coffee since he gets a little shaky if didn't have his morning cup.  I hoped he was joking, but he or the nurse didn't laugh.

My wife had her tubes tied after our third child, since we decided that was all the more children we were going to have. Looks like none of you guys got your wife to commit to not having anymore children.

That wasn't an option with us.  We had our kids at a Catholic hospital.

It's easy to tie tubes if it's done during birth. If it's after birth getting a vasectomy is much more simple and safe than getting tubes tied.

And far cheaper

And she can still have children, with her second husband.

I was just going to say, the actual procedure isn't too bad, it's the needle they stick into your sack that makes you begin to wish for an immediate death.  Kind of like getting dental work.  The work on your teeth isn't too bad, it's the shot.

Only the needle into your balls is WAY worse than any dental work.

I'm going to have this procedure in a couple months and you're not helping.

Had mine done last month. Only time I felt pain was about half an hour after. Drugs immediately took care of that and then didn’t need them after a day. Sucked having to wear a jock strap for a week (Adam if you’re looking for an idea about photo sharing, show one of you in just your jock).

I wanted to do the no scalpel method but that particular doctor wasn’t available so went with incision method. Look into the no scalpel one.

Still got to drain the swamp about 20 to 30 times after so tell your wife to help you out and that you’re willing to wear a barrier to keep the undesirable out.

Its been a week and I still feel it. I was hoping to run a week later, I'm hoping I can run this month now.

One testicle is still seollen and very purple, also has a weird lump. Hopefully this gets better. Good news is I can walk almost normal now.

no pictures, please.
