What a horrible article. How does one come to the conclusion he was "supposed to be free agent", then speaks for the player claiming the extension is "regrettable"

I doubt he makes enough more in the two FA years he gave up that it'll cost him much, if anything forgoing free agency for those two years since he likely made more in his pre-FA years than he would have otherwise. The author is just bitter he's still on the Angels instead of some team back east.

What if Arte sold the team to Trout for $1.  Would Trout sign himself to an extension or go play for the Phillies?  If he was smart he would trade himself to the Phillies for next to nothing.
