been thinking about getting one. anyone here have one or ever used one? thoughts, opinions?

You thinking about getting into the gym, tank?

I would suggest starting off going to a real gym. Even one of these places like fitness 19. I think their dues are only like 9 bucks a month.

Get into it, and once you have a routine, you can decide if youll really use a home gym, or end up putting it on craigs list in a year.

I have a Weider version of a total gym. I use it while I'm watching baseball or hockey at 4 AM before work. It's nice for helping me get loosened up and for working the back but it's never going to help you build any muscle

i'm at a point where i don't really care about building muscle. i want to tone and tighten up. i also want to get in more workouts. i walk, but i can't seem to go everyday, and during the cold weather it's a bit tougher for me because i don't have much in the way of cold weather clothing. i figured having something i can do at home would be a better solution.

what's the weider version called? and do you remember what you paid for it (if you don't mind me asking)?

It's Ultimate Body Works or something like that. I bought it here second hand so I have no idea what it might cost you new. And if you go on youtube you can find lots of simple workouts to do at the house that will reach the muscle groups you miss by just walking.

I've got myself a nice powerrack, along with weights, bar and everything for a decent price.

If you're down with doing strength stuff then I'd go with that. Obviously age, injury history and goals are a big factor.

I prefer buying home total gym for all this GYMs.. I bought it last year and completely satisfied with the goods I ordered the most popular model for that time - xls. Now i want to buy for my parents another one - 1100 model

Looks like Chuck forgot to lock the bot gate before taking off for Thanksgiving.

Man, the last post before the bump was January 7th. It was almost a year which means this thread was absolutely buried. I'm more impressed with the find here than the actual post.
