At the same time, it’s far from clear that Kikuchi is inevitably headed to Seattle. Per MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand, via Twitter, “other teams remain in this mix” along with the M’s.

This sounds like a Boras type of happenings. Deal appears to be close, but two more teams still in the mix. Hopefully, Angels don’t end up overpaying.  But Eppler doesn’t seem likely to get sucked into that type of stuff.

If my source is correct, the terms being floated were not as high as some may have thought. So Seattle might get a bargain here.

Either the money was better than everyone was offering or "Snake Oil Jerry" Dipooto managed to con Kikuchi into believing Seattle is a desirable place to play.

Honestly, I can't think of any team *less* appealing to sign unless the compensation makes up for all the downsides.

Glad to have Ohtani vs Kikuchi...plus Angels already have two 27 year old lefties with just as much upside.
